When I think of this story of the Korahites, it is what I imagine when reading Isaiah 11:1 – “A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots.” The family tree of Korah was laid to waste, with barely a stump remaining. But somehow, something grew – FAITH! This was cultivated enough that it grew significantly into a “stalk” that was able to produce faithful fruit – to make a significant impact on the life of the Israelite community.
