We at Lyndhurst Faith understand that without social justice and equality, the peace that Jesus spoke much of will be far off and that the poor and disadvantaged will continue to suffer in an unequal world.

We take our responsibility to the planet, and each other seriously. The care we take now helps sustains those less fortunate as well as our future generations. At Lyndhurst Faith we recognize the importance of sustaining God’s great gift to us. We have faithfully engaged in numerous actions to live as a “green” church through our Green Initiatives:

  • Work to improve the energy efficiency of our buildings
  • Advent 2015 Palestinian Fair Trade Items (see John Mc)
  • Green T-shirts raise awareness and funds for energy consumption reduction
  • Support inner-city partner North Church on energy savings
  • Replaced inefficient appliances with EnergyStar rated ones
  • Performed energy audits and acted upon results
  • Host community wide green fair
  • Replaced incandescent lighting with CFL’s & LEDs
  • Film screenings and held adult classes
  • Eliminated styrofoam and implemented recycling many years back
  • Shared in word and song the the February 2015 IPL Preach-In on climate change
